Frequently asked questions
Are my files really deleted?
Yes, absolutely. Your PDF is deleted from the server immediately after compression. No copy is kept. Your privacy is our priority.
What is the difference between compression profiles?
Light: small reduction, high quality (180 DPI). Balanced: recommended, good compromise (144 DPI). Aggressive: maximum compression (96 DPI). Extreme: rasterization mode, maximum compression but may reduce text quality.
What is Extreme mode?
Extreme mode converts each page into a rasterized image, offering maximum compression. Warning: this may reduce text quality and make text non-selectable. Ideal for scanned or image-heavy documents.
Is there a size limit?
The maximum size is 50 MB. For larger files, use a local compression tool or split your PDF first.
Why compress my administrative letters before sending them?
Compression reduces the size of your files, making it easier to send by email (often limited to 10-25 MB) and speeds up uploading to administrative portals.
Is the compressed PDF still readable and printable?
Yes, even with aggressive compression, your documents remain perfectly readable. For official printing, we recommend the 'Light' profile which preserves the best quality.
How long does compression take?
Compression generally takes a few seconds. For large files with many images, it can take up to a minute. Extreme mode may take longer.
